Courses are available virtually every week at the Bush Air home base on Kidwell Airport (1L4), Cal-Nev-Ari, Nevada, USA. Training is also available in Alaska between May and July. Occasionally, training can be given at other locations in the United States and worldwide by special arrangement.
All pilots, regardless of experience, including flight instructors, can benefit greatly from this training. The primary objective of all training at Bush Air is to create Safer, more Proficient, Confident and Skilled pilots! Courses are FAA Safety Team accredited. In addition, an FAA 61.56 Flight Review (BFR) can be included at no extra cost.
The journey to becoming a bush pilot begins with obtaining a PPL ( a private pilot’s license) and subsequently obtaining CPL (commercial pilot’s license). If as a bush pilot, you plan on ferrying passengers, an ATPL (air traffic pilot’s license) is required and this can take up to five years if it is taken on a part-time basis.
